This course is primarily aimed at those who want to explore different social care environments. Opportunities within the course will enable students to develop essential knowledge, understanding and transferable skills in the fields of child, health and social care.

The course offers an introduction to the different care provision within the sector, acting as excellent preparation for progression towards further study or employment.

What you will experience

This course includes the Health & Social Care Higher qualification, and will explore a range of important topics including sociology and human development, values and principles in care, families in modern society and mental health issues.

The course also develops Core Skills in IT, Communication and Numeracy.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have four National 4, Intermediate 1 or Standard Grade General level (Grade 3 or above) qualifications, and two National 5 qualification (including English) at Grade C or above.

Other qualifications and experience may be considered, but the ability to work at SCQF Level 5 is essential.

A genuine interest in working with people and good communication skills are essential.
