Why take this course?
This course will provide you with a range of different practical engineering skills. All skills will be strongly underpinned by relevant theory covered in classroom work. It is designed for those who wish to become a skilled craft or trades person, or operative.
What you will experience
Your focus will be on areas such as bench fitting and lathe and milling machine operations, Computer Aided Draughting (CAD), graphical engineering and communication. As an engineer working in the sector you will be using core skills every day.
As a result your communication, numeracy, IT, problem solving and team working abilities will be developed for the duration of the course. there is also a strong focus on health and safety in the workplace.
Applicants should have successfully completed a qualification at SVQ Level 2, with the addition of a maths qualification for direct entry.
Alternatively, applicants should have National 5 Maths at grade C or D.
