This course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to enter the working world as a well-rounded and confident spa professional.
Why take this course?
Through a balanced combination of theory and practical work, you will confirm your abilities as a confident and competent Body and Spa Therapist. This course is based on the National Occupational Standards and is a preparation for work qualification, suitable for those who have achieved the VRQ Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy, and/or those who have experience of working in the industry who want to gain a formal qualification.
What you will experience
You will learn about advanced aspects of body and spa therapies and related industries and how to work effectively with colleagues and clients. Excellent practice of promoting and selling products and services and maintaining personal health and wellbeing, alongside practical skills which focus on body massage, aroma therapy massage, stone therapy, facial electrotherapy, spa treatments and eyelash treatments.
Learning in a realistic working environment, these skills will give you the ability to complete your Commercial Experience unit.
Applicants should have achieved the VRQ Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy or an equivalent award. Applicants should also have a minimum of three National 5, Intermediate 2 or Standard Grade Credit level qualifications, or appropriate work experience.
Good communication skills, a willingness to learn new practical skills and working with the general public are essential qualities for this course. Essential skills will be developed throughout the programme.
