Overview

Why take this course?

Accidents happen when you least expect them. Earning a certification in performing emergency first aid is the only way to ensure you'll know exactly what to do when mishap - no matter how big or small - strikes. This Health and Safety Executive approved course leads to the certification which is valid for three years.  It is aimed at those whose work requires them to be aware of emergency first aid measures, including parents, care workers, those in the hospitality industry, etc.

What you will experience

This short course is composed of highly practical content as well as a theoretical element, ensuring you are well equipped with the skills and confidence needed to act swiftly and effectively in the case of emergency. The topics covered include:

  • Basic anatomy and physiology
  • Basic life support and emergency first aid responses
  • Treatment of various injuries and ailments

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Please note, this course is not eligible for fee waiver.

It is recommended that candidates undertake a short annual refresher to remind themselves of the basic principles of first aid.

Students may wish to proceed to other child, health and social care courses or go on to complete the 18 hour HSE First Aid Qualification.
