Psychology: Individual Psychology Equivalent to SCQF Level 5

Why take this course?

This Unit enables learners to use appropriate psychological concepts, theories and evidence to explain human behaviour in a range of contexts.  

The course covers two topics in psychology: The mandatory topic is Sleep, Dreams and Sleep Disorders, and the second topic is Memory (however this can change from year to year). Each topic will cover at least two psychological approaches and will look at how individuals are impacted in relation to wellbeing.

The Unit is a good introduction to individual behaviour and looks at how psychology can help people to change their behaviour in order to achieve better health and wellbeing.

This is a useful course if you wish to Psychology at Higher level. 

What you will experience

By the end of this course, you will be able to explain topics relating to individual behaviour by:

  • Describing a topic relevant to individual behaviour
  • Explaining the behaviour using psychological approaches and theories
  • Explaining the strengths and weaknesses
