The Salon acts as a realistic working environment for our students, providing them with the opportunity to train with real clients. The general public and NESCol staff and students are strongly encouraged to come along and treat themselves to the many discounted hair, beauty and complementary therapy treatments available.
The facilities and resources available to students at The Salon are industry standard, and include:
Three Hair Salons
Our hair salons at Fraserburgh, much like our Aberdeen City Campus, are well equipped boasting top of the range equipment and resources. All salons are used for clients and commercial use, allowing for extensive training and skills development amongst our students.
Spray Tanning Equipment
A spray tanning cubicle is available.
Three Beauty Salons
Our beauty salons are suitable for both commercial clients and for learning and training purposes.
Theory Rooms with Interactive Whiteboards
The use of interactive whiteboards in each of our theory rooms makes for a more dynamic learning environment.
All salons are well-equipped with top of the range equipment and resources.

Although every effort will be made to provide you with the treatment you have booked, we reserve the right to offer an alternative treatment to enable individual students the opportunity to establish their skills and to collect vital evidence required for certifications. Although every effort will be made to avoid this, cancellation of an appointment may happen on occasion due to circumstances outwith our control. Alternative appointments will be offered where possible.
Students reserve the right to adapt the treatment with no alteration to the price stated. Although every effort is made to complete the treatments in a commercial time, this is not always possible in a training environment. Please take this into consideration when booking your appointment. Please note that all clients will be asked to undergo an allergy test (for hair colouring and some products used in beauty therapy treatments) prior to treatments involving the application of products to skin or hair.
Please note that North East Scotland College does not offer crèche facilities - therefore children cannot be left unattended whilst clients are receiving treatments. The College also does not allow clients to take children (classed as those aged under 16) with them into any classroom or teaching areas (including hair and beauty salons, IT centres and libraries).
