College update: Industrial action resolution agreed

The Colleges Scotland Employers’ Association has today unanimously ratified a resolution, as agreed with the EIS-FELA last week, to the national dispute on the use of instructor assessors and other similar roles.

The dispute had been the subject of industrial action at colleges throughout the Country.

NESCol Principal Neil Cowie said: “As a members of the Employers’ Association we welcome the EIS-FELA’s acceptance of the resolution and their commitment to end strike action.

“Throughout this process NESCol has endeavoured to be positive and proactive in its approach, maintaining the strong relationships we have with our union representatives on the Local Joint Negotiating Committee.

“I look forward to continuing to work together with all colleagues to support students and guide them through this crucial period in the College year.”
