College update: Industrial action

April 19, 2022

EIS-FELA trade union members serving in Scotland’s colleges will continue industrial action on Wednesday, 25 May.

This is the latest in a series of strike dates. The union represents some of the NESCol lecturing staff.

The College remains open for staff and students who are timetabled to attend. Remote learning will also continue as timetabled.

The action is the result of a ballot of members in relation to a dispute over the 2021/22 pay offer, which is negotiated nationally.

EIS-FELA members will undertake action short of strike until 30 September as well as strike days on the following dates: 20 April; 26-27 April; 4-5 May; 12 May; 17 May; 25 May; 21 June; 23 June; 24 June; 27-29 June.

Principal Neil Cowie said: “NESCol aims to minimise any disruption and students should continue to follow timetables on these dates unless advised otherwise.

“A strong working relationship with NESCol’s union representatives is something the College values and the national dispute will not impact on our collaborative approach.”
