Why take this course?

This course is designed for those who want to progress to university or those who are already working in the industry, who wish to build on their skills and perhaps work towards a promotion. It will allow you to acquire the abilities and attributes needed for educational and professional progression.

What you will experience

Topics

You will cover a range of subjects relevant to working as a construction professional including site surveying, substructure, superstructure and building science. You will also develop your practical skills in areas such as technical drawing, CAD and measurement and costing.

Study requirements

  • Year 1 Day Release students: You will be expected to attend College for 6.5 hours per week for 37 weeks. The self-study requirements are up to 3 hours per week.
  • Year 2 Day Release students: You will be expected to attend College for 6.5 hours per week for 32 weeks. The self-study requirements are up to 3 hours per week for 22 weeks, but please note that 10 weeks of the course will require significantly more self-study.

This course will require commitment to self-study to keep up with course work and also preparation for assessment and examination. The Graded Unit will demand significant commitment.
