Applicants should have a pass in Accountancy or Business at National 5 level.
Why take this course?
This course introduces learners to fundamental knowledge and skills in accountancy and provides learners with an understanding of accounting standards and practices, and of the ethical responsibilities of an accountant.

To achieve the NPA the learner has to pass five essential units:
- Preparing Management Accounting Information
- Analysing Accounting Information
- Preparing Financial Accounting Information
- Recording Cash Transactions in the Ledger
- Professional Ethics for Accounting

Whilst you are on the course, you will be required to:
- Always be ready to start your class at the given time
- Demonstrate a commitment to learning and self-study
- Adhere to the School Pupils Code of Commitment
Eating and drinking are not permitted in classrooms. Drinking water is available from water dispensers in the corridors within the College buildings.
Opportunities
The NPA in Accountancy allows for progression to other accounting-related programmes in both the further and higher education sectors, as well as providing progression to or within employment.

This course is only available to pupils in S4 to S6 across Aberdeen, giving pupils the opportunity to experience life as a College student whilst staying on at school.
