No prior knowledge of computing/programming or data science is required. You should have a basic level of numeracy skills.
Data science is one of a number of emerging technologies that is becoming increasingly important in modern society. Most contemporary jobs require data skills of some kind, and the ability to manipulate data, and draw insights from it, is a valuable skill for any employee.
Specifically learners will develop statistical and communication skills as they relate to data science. Learners will also develop analytical skills to gain insights into datasets and make data-driven decisions in a business or organisational context.
The PDA in Data Science Level 7 assumes no prior knowledge of computing/programming or data science. It is suitable for all learners with a basic numeracy level.

Your course may be free if you are not a full time student with NESCol and you are : in receipt of benefits; or care-experienced; or your household taxable income falls below defined levels.

If you take up a place on a College course, at the start of the course you will be asked to sign an enrolment form. Please note that courses are offered subject to (a) there being sufficient numbers of enrolments and (b) the availability of resources. The College reserves its right (i) not to run courses where the number of students is considered insufficient or where resources are unavailable and (ii) in certain circumstances, to refuse admission to an individual applicant.
