Suitable for Plumbing and HVAC Engineers (must hold appropriate industry qualifications at SVQ level 3 or equivalent).
Why take this course?
This course is for plumbing and heating engineers who want to install Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems to enable them to demonstrate their competence so they join a Competent Persons’ Scheme allowing the self-certification of installations, or to notify the local Building Control Department prior to commencing work.
What you will experience
The very comprehensive course starts with intensive training in the four modules listed below, followed by the completion of three assessments including one practical. Candidates must successfully pass all three assessments.
- Vented and unvented systems and their operating principles
- Design and installation
- Maintenance
- Compliance with other Building Regulations
Key Facts
To qualify for funding you must be aged 25 or over, live in Scotland AND have become unemployed since 1 March 2020 or be at risk of redundancy / unemployment (e.g. received redundancy notification or furloughed).
