Suitable for Plumbing and HVAC Engineers (must hold appropriate industry qualifications at SVQ level 3 or equivalent).
The course is for anyone requiring an understanding of water regulations/water byelaws. In particular those wishing to become approved plumbers/contractors.
The very comprehensive course starts with intensive training in the 12 modules, followed by the completion of the assessments. There are no practical elements – all training is theoretical. Candidates must successfully pass all the assessments.

Module 3 – Materials and substances in contrast with water
Module 4 – Requirements for water fittings
Module 5 – Water Systems and Installation
Module 6 – Commissioning
Module 7 – Prevention of Cross Connection to Unwholesome Water
Module 8 – Backflow Prevention
Module 9 – Cold Water Services
Module 10 – Hot Water Services
Module 11 – WCs Flushing devices and urinals
Module 12 – Sanitary Appliances and Water for Outside Use
To qualify for funding you must be aged 25 or over, live in Scotland AND have become unemployed since 1 March 2020 or be at risk of redundancy/unemployment (e.g. received redundancy notification or furloughed).
