Are you an S4 or S5 student considering your Senior Phase options choices? Maybe you’re a parent or guardian wanting to help a young person understand the range of opportunities available? Have you thought about a Foundation Apprenticeship?
Foundation Apprenticeships are an exciting addition to the range of curriculum options for senior phase students. Completed alongside other timetabled subjects while at school, they blend college-based classroom learning with hands-on experience in the workplace.
Foundation Apprenticeships provide work-based learning opportunities for young people, supporting skills demands from employers and creating pathways into critical occupations for the Scottish economy.
Taken over one or two years by senior phase school pupils alongside Nationals and Highers, completion of a Foundation Apprenticeship leads to a qualification at the same level as a Higher.
Recognised by all Scottish universities and colleges, Foundation Apprenticeships support progression on to a job, such as a Modern or Graduate Apprenticeship, or on to further and higher education.
NESCol currently offers 11 different Foundation Apprenticeship frameworks. Students can choose from:
To help you decide if a NESCol Foundation Apprenticeship is the right choice for you, we are holding a number of information sessions across our campuses. Curriculum staff will be on hand to provide guidance, advice and to answer any questions that you may have. Reserve your place:
