NESCol launches free online courses to support the regional workforce
January 6, 2021
North East Scotland College has launched a fully funded selection of online courses available to anyone who can commit to two hours of study a week. The courses, which are part of the new 2021 part-time and distance learning programme, include customer service, counselling skills, health and mental wellbeing.
Business Development Director Duncan Abernethy said: “NESCol has an important role to play in helping to support and stimulate the economy here in the North East. With rising unemployment and job uncertainty, courses are one way of helping individuals broaden skill sets which can lead to more options in the future.
“This fully funded selection contains areas that we know students have found to be both enjoyable and valuable. As part of the distance learning programme the courses are designed to fit in with day to day life and can be carried out at a time suitable to the individual.”
The funded courses are:
- Principles of Customer Service
- Counselling Skills
- Common Health Conditions
- Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes
- Understanding Issues in Mental Health.
NESCol’s distance learning programme has been developed to provide skills for employment, including personal and professional development. These online learning courses help to enhance career prospects through working towards and gaining accredited qualifications and skills. A range of funding options are available depending on the chosen course.
