You will have completed the generic 5 day IMO 1.27 ECDIS for entry on to this course.
Why take this course?
This Type-Specific ECDIS training course provides you with specific knowledge of the functionality and effective use of the FURUNO ECDIS.
This computer based training package is supported by experienced ECDIS tutors.
What you will experience
- Familiarisation with available functions
- Familiarisation with the menu structure
- Display setup
- Setting of safety values
- Recognition of alarms and malfunction indicators and the appropriate actions to be taken
- Route planning
- Route monitoring
- Changing to back-up systems
- Loading and updating of charts and licenses
- Software updating
The course is concluded with a compulsory test and, if passed, a certificate is issued. The certificate confirms the successful completion of the type specific ECDIS course.
