Pathways to Work – Aberdeenshire

Fully funded part-time courses to help you take your next step into employment.

In collaboration with Aberdeenshire Council, NESCol is offering fully funded part-time courses for Aberdeenshire residents who are out looking for work or a change in career.

These courses are designed to help you build confidence and skills that employers value.

Courses

Get Into Hospitality

Gain accredited, industry-recognised qualifications for a career in the hospitality sector.

This 5-week part-time course is delivered in-person at Peterhead Football Club.

Classes start 1 September 2026, and run Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9.30am – 4pm.

This course includes:

  • REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene qualification (SCQF Level 5)
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Personal Licence – Introduction and/or personal licence holders qualifications
  • People First – World Host
  • REHIS Allergen Awareness
  • Additional online short courses (such as manual handling safety at work)
  • Employability sessions with employers.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for these courses, you must:

  • Live in Aberdeenshire
  • Be aged between 16 and 67
  • Be unemployed or underemployed and not in education
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK.

These courses are also open to parents with children under 18 who live at home (the above criteria must also be met).
