NESCol offers two Modern Apprenticeships (MA) in Business & Management:
Both MAs are fully based in the workplace, and combine paid employment with flexible learning through NESCol.
Apprentices gain industry-recognised qualifications while building practical workplace skills.

Business and Administration
The Business and Administration Modern Apprenticeship is designed for people working in administrative roles in an organisation, such as finance, HR, events, IT, projects and data analysis.

The Business and Administration MA framework outlines what apprentices need to learn and achieve to complete their apprenticeship.
It includes:
- One Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) at Level 3 (Level 4 for SCQF Level 8)
- Core Skills (Career Skills for SCQF Level 8)
- Enhancement

SCQF levels show the overall level of learning of the MA.
SCQF Level 5
Apprentices build the essential skills and knowledge needed to start a career and work confidently in their role.
SCQF Level 6
Apprentices develop the skills and experience to work independently and take responsibility for day-to-day tasks.
SCQF Level 8
Apprentices develop specialist knowledge and leadership skills to manage complex tasks and drive improvements in the workplace.
A typical Business and Administration MA lasts two years.
This MA is fully work-based.
The Sector Skills Council for the Business and Administration MA is Instructus Skills.
Management
The Management Modern Apprenticeship is designed for people who are already working in a management role, or who are preparing to progress into one.
This MA is suitable for for organisations of all sizes, across the public, private or voluntary sectors.
It helps apprentices build the skills, knowledge and confidence to lead teams and become more effective managers.
