June 13, 2023

North East Scotland College has begun a new round of recruitment for members of its Regional Board.

Board members help shape the delivery of college education in the communities served by NESCol and play a key role in strategic planning.

Neil Cowie, Principal and Chief Executive, said: “Being part of the NESCol Regional Board is a rewarding experience and the contribution of members is valuable as we continue on our path to achieving the ambition of becoming Scotland’s best performing college.

“We are excited about the opportunities for NESCol as we support traditional, evolving and new industries to grow and develop. We are also very clear about the challenges in our sector and the importance of innovation.”

NESCol is one of the largest providers of vocational education and training in Scotland, delivering to more than 20,000 full-time, part-time and distance learning students each year. The College operates from its main Aberdeen Altens, Aberdeen City and Fraserburgh campuses as well as the Scottish Maritime Academy in Peterhead.

It is a priority of the Board, which is led by Regional Chair Susan Elston, to continue working towards gender balance and broad representation of the diverse population of the North East of Scotland. Applications from traditionally underrepresented groups are encouraged.

NESCol is also keen to embrace the expertise from a wide range of industries and sectors. The Board has extensive energy industry representation and applications from individuals with experience in other key areas of the regional economy are welcome.

Applications remain open until 14 July 2023. For further information about the vacancies and the selection process visit the board appointment page.
