New SFA partnership with sport team at NESCol kicks off

November 10, 2023

Callum MacDonald, Player & Coach Development Manager (North Region) from the Scottish Football Association (SFA), visited North East Scotland College recently to meet a group of students selected to take part in the Volunteer Inspire Programme, a new partnership between the two organisations.

The initiative is designed to give young people from a variety of disadvantaged communities across Scotland the opportunity to gain formal qualifications.

Callum said, “It is fantastic to be working in partnership with NESCol and I am looking forward to working with their sports students as part of the Scottish FA Volunteer Inspire programme.”

Michelle Sutherland, Curriculum Manager for Sport and Fitness at North East Scotland College, said, “Our new partnership with the Scottish Football Association is an excellent opportunity that will see an increase in practical opportunities for our students to develop their skills through the NESCol exclusive six-month Volunteer Inspire Programme Award. As part of this, the Sporting Futures Workshops and SFA Introduction to Coaching course will provide valuable coaching qualifications and practical experience which will enable our learners to be active role models within the community.”
