Kevin Simpson studied HNC Engineering Design at NESCol and is now a Rotating Equipment Specialist. His career has taken him from the North East of Scotland to as far as Australia, working in Adelaide and Perth before moving to the Republic of Ireland.
“My qualification from College helped my career in that as well as giving me an understanding of relevant engineering design principles it also gave me the ability to obtain work visas for other countries with various employers.”
Kevin’s current role is for GE Power in Galway, Ireland where he is a Combined Cycle Power Plant Operator.
“I have worked in the offshore oil and gas industry but my HNC has opened doors to other sectors too. My experience in the power generation and LNG industries show how transferrable a qualification an HNC in Engineering can be.”
