Since completing the course in the summer, Eilidh is delighted to have secured a full-time job in the oil and gas industry.

During her time at Mintlaw Academy Eilidh found that she was interested in engineering and chose to study NESCol’s Girls in Energy course while she was still at school. She said, “I’ve always been interested in engineering from early on at secondary school so when I found out about the Shell Engineering Scheme it seemed like such a good opportunity for me.”

Eilidh enjoyed studying at NESCol. She said, “The course gave us fantastic opportunities to learn about engineering and our lecturers always encouraged us to aim high.” On finishing her course, Eilidh successfully applied for her first full-time job. She said, “My current job is an ROV tech pilot for Helix. Studying at NESCol definitely helped me get my job – every day I put into practice things I learned at college.”

Looking to the future, Eilidh is happy to stay in her current field. She said, “I’m enjoying my job so I would like to work my way up the ROV career ladder and hopefully achieve a higher position.”
