Rebecca Thomson works for Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin as Medical Secretary to the Ophthalmology Department. She is a finalist in NESCol’s Apprentice of the Year 2020 awards.
Rebecca joined NHS Grampian from leaving school and has gradually progressed to her current position. Rebecca was keen to consolidate her on the job learning and practical experience with a recognised work-based qualification and explored the options with her line manager.
Rebecca says, “I would like to say a big thank you to NHS Grampian for allowing me to undertake the Business and Administration apprenticeship and supporting me throughout my journey. I really enjoyed returning to the academic side of things and I would like to think that this apprenticeship will stand me in good stead for further development at Dr Gray’s.”
