‘Tell us your more about you’ Guidance
Some useful guidance on how to complete this mandatory section of our full-time application.
Included in our online application for full-time courses is a section called ‘Tell us more about you’. It provides an opportunity for you, the applicant, to tell us more about yourself. Providing further information about yourself and why you want to study on your chosen course will help to speed up the progress of your application.
This is your opportunity to tell us why you want to study the course you are applying for and why you think you are suitable for the course. It’s particularly important for courses that are popular and attract more applicants than places available.
We recommend that you prepare something in advance, then simply paste it into the section. This will allow you to use a spell–checker.
Question guidance
There are three questions to answer when completing this section of the application. These are listed below, with guidance on what to include within your answers.
Think about why you are applying for your chosen course – why does this subject interest you? Why do you think you’re suitable for the course? Do your current or previous studies or employment relate to the course that you have chosen, or have you taken part in any other activities that demonstrate your interest in the area?
How do the skills you have developed or the qualifications you have or are working towards connect to this course? e.g. any current or previous courses/subjects studied. What skills do you have that will help you succeed? e.g. problem solving, communication, etc. Is there anything you have been proud of during your education or employment? e.g. winning an award, , taking part in a competition or event.
Share activities outside of education that show you’re a good fit for this course. For example, any employment, work experience or volunteering you have taken part in, personal experiences or responsibilities, hobbies and extracurricular activities or any other achievements. Anything that shows your skills, personal qualities, interests and strengths.
