Anti-Racism

We Stand United Against Racism

On 14 August 2020, Scotland’s Universities and Colleges signed a declaration to recognise:

  • Racism exists on our campuses and in our society
  • We should call it what it is and reject it in all its forms
  • Call it racism
  • Challenge racist behaviour
  • Change racist structures

NESCol also signed the Scottish Higher Education and Further Education Anti-Racism Declaration and continues with its commitment to tackling racism on its campuses.

NESCol is part of the Antiracism Roundtable, a consortium of local partners dedicated to advancing and embedding anti-racism in their organisations and in the North East of Scotland.

Together with partners like GREC (Grampian Racial Equality Council), University of Aberdeen, Police Scotland, Aberdeen City Council, NHS Grampian and Robert Gordon University, we are committed to addressing and eradicating racism from our institutions and the wider community, creating an anti-racist and truly inclusive culture that goes beyond mere rhetoric with radical action.

Anyone concerned about racist behaviour and the safety of themselves or others at College can report it using our Report + Support platform.
