This Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) course will introduce you to the essential skills needed to start a career in the automotive maintenance sector.
You’ll get the opportunity for extensive hands-on practical work, helping you build confidence and competence in problem-solving, teamwork and commercial awareness.
These transferable skills support progression towards further study, apprenticeships or entry-level roles in the motor industry
Teaching will take the form of theory, as well as a range of practical activities. You’ll learn in vehicle maintenance workshops and classrooms at Aberdeen Altens Campus or Fraserburgh Campus.

IMI Entry Level 3 Introduction to Automotive Maintenance and Repair
For all automotive courses, you must provide and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The PPE required includes wearing:
You will not be allowed into the workshops without PPE. You will be returned to school and marked absent if you arrive without it.

This course is only available to pupils in S4 to S6 across Aberdeen City and Shire, giving pupils the opportunity to experience life as a College student whilst staying on at school.
