Courses for the Northfield community, delivered by NESCol in Northfield Academy.
NESCol is working alongside Northfield Academy to promote learning pathways for adults into employment or further education within the Hair and Beauty sector. These courses are available to anyone within the Northfield Community.
Courses
Our short courses are designed to give participants a taster of College learning, while giving you an opportunity to have fun and try something new.
These will initially be Hair & Beauty courses, delivered within the salon space at Northfield Academy.

Funding
You may be eligible for a fee waiver to have the costs of a course covered.

Hair, Beauty & Complementary Therapies
Basic Hair Up & Using Electrical Equipment
Learn the basic skills for styling hair in this 6-week programme, focussing on the correct way to control and style hair for special occasions.
The course will introduce you to a range of techniques to style hair to a high standard, the science behind styling and the effect styling has on the hair structure.
- Perform a variety of different styles and up-dos suitable for bridal and special occasions.
- Learn new techniques using the most up-to-date equipment and products.
Those who successfully complete this programme will be awarded a College Certificate.

Basic Nail Gel Polish
Learn the introductory skills for nail gel polish in this 6-week programme.
This course will introduce you to a range of topics including:
- Skills to prepare for and provide gel polish treatments to clients, under supervision.
- Learn how to correctly apply and remove gel polish.
Those who successfully complete this programme will be awarded a College Certificate.
