Carpentry & Joinery Apprenticeship
“Every day is different so there is a good variety.”
Keiran Laing works for SIR Joinery in Balmedie. He is close to completing a four-year apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery. Keiran is a finalist in NESCol’s Apprentice of the Year 2020 awards.
He comments, “I’ve always had an interest in Joinery – my dad works in this area and I’ve always wanted to follow in his footsteps. Working for Steven Reid had been really good – every day is different with a huge variety of work. l really enjoy the finishing side of joinery – new builds, bar fitting and renovations. Eventually I would love to go self-employed and work for myself – this has always been a long term goal.”
