Why take this course?

This course will help you understand the concept of behaviour that challenges, including why people behave the way they do, and develop skills to manage challenging behaviour in an appropriate way.

You’ll learn the causes and impact of challenging behaviours, providing both an individual or an employer with skills to proactively manage challenges and support positive behaviour.

Skills in managing challenging behaviour are beneficial to those currently working in, or looking to work in, health and social care roles as well as education.

What you will experience

This course is perfect for beginners. It is fully online which means that you can study from anywhere, at any time. You will receive support from our expert tutors.

You will learn:

  • Unit 1: Recognising and Understanding Behaviour that Challenges.
  • Unit 2: Legislation and Support for Behaviour that Challenges.
  • Unit 3: Communication and Managing Behaviour that Challenges.
  • Unit 4: Managing Challenging Situations
  • Unit 5: Providing Support After Challenging Incidents

Assessment takes place throughout your studies by a series of questions which are built into the course. Your answers are automatically saved and are available for you to revise and edit at any point before submission.

You submit your assessment answers to your tutor for marking, who will give you feedback on each question. If you do not pass an assessment, don’t worry!

Once your Tutor has marked your work, you will receive an email instructing you to log into the system. If your result is ‘Refer’ this means your Tutor has highlighted some areas which need more attention in order for you to pass. You will then be able to re-attempt and re-submit the questions you didn’t pass first time round.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a digital certificate issued by North East Scotland College.
