This is a classroom-based academic programme at a similar level to first year of university. The course addresses how to solve mechanical engineering problems with mathematical solutions, which are applied to mechanical engineering principles.
This course will cover 4 of the 12 credits required to complete the HNC. Year 2 of this part-time course must be successfully completed in order to fulfill the requirements of the full award. Completion of all credits on a part-time basis normally takes students around 18 months.

Candidates should have NC Mechanical Engineering (SCQF Level 6) which must include Technician 2 Maths OR a pass in Higher Maths.
Please note that prospective students may need to provide evidence of having the required entry level/mathematical skill base.
