NESCol’s class of 2025 step forward in Fraserburgh ceremony
September 21, 2025
The first band of North East Scotland College graduates for 2025 had their achievements recognised in a ceremony at the Fraserburgh Campus on Saturday (20 September).
The weekend event will be followed by two further ceremonies at the Music Hall in Aberdeen on 7 October, for those who studied at the Aberdeen Altens and Aberdeen City campuses.
More than 200 guests, staff, NESCol Regional Board members, community representatives and College partners came together to celebrate 55 former students and apprentices who crossed the stage to receive their qualifications.
Susan Elston, Chair of the NESCol Regional Board, said: “It is an honour to be able to share such a special day with individuals who have worked so hard to get to this point. Our graduation ceremonies are a chance to reflect on those achievements and for those in the spotlight to enjoy the occasion with all those closest to them. We look forward to following their journeys with interest.”
The ceremony, hosted by BBC Scotland presenter Fiona Stalker and featuring guest speaker Victor West, CEO and Deputy Chairman of Associated Seafoods, included a performance by NESCol music student Erin Sharpe. As part of the event a number of special prizes were presented to graduates.
The Endeavour Award, sponsored by the the Rotary Club of Fraserburgh, was won by Shania Anderson. Four awards sponsored by Score Group, recognising achievements in HNC Electrical Engineering, HNC Engineering Practice, HNC Mechanical Engineering and HND Mechanical Engineering, were presented to Eva Rosie, Alanna Gray, Krystian Pezik, and Jack Turriff.
NESCol Principal Neil Cowie added: “Huge congratulations go to our graduates and award winners. We enjoyed a wonderful day, one that all will look back on in years to come with great fondness. In talking to many of those individuals, and those who joined the celebrations, it’s clear there is no shortage of ambition in this cohort. Whatever the future holds, we’re very grateful for all that our class of 2025 have brought to the College and proud to have played our part in helping them strive to meet their goals in education, work and in life.”
