This course is perfect for a novice who is looking to become a more experienced dressmaker. The course will teach you how to take measurements and draft basic, stylised pattern blocks. You will also make up a toile (mock up) of your chosen garment(s) and complete the piece in your chosen fabrics.
The course is also extremely useful in that it will help you learn to use sewing machines, using various sewing samples and techniques.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but it would be beneficial for students to have some experience of using a sewing machine.
The Introduction to Sewing & Textiles course may be more suitable if you are a complete beginner.
Students will be expected to bring in their own fabrics, material and possibly patterns, but this will be discussed with the tutor at the first meeting of the course.
This course is not eligible for fee waiver.
