Why take this course?

This course allows learners to learn about the specific uniformed services and the employment opportunities within them. You will have the opportunity to investigate various uniformed and emergency services and their recruitment process. We provide key links with representatives of these services through presentations, practical team building activities and outdoor skills events.

You will get the opportunity to visit emergency and uniformed services throughout the course.

The course will help you develop your knowledge and strengthen essential skills such as communication, problem-solving, leadership and teamwork which are required by the uniformed services. This will be achieved through participation in a range of challenging and realistic activities.

What you will experience

During the course there will be the opportunity to improve your fitness in preparation for joining your chosen service.

Attend several visits to various uniformed services, including British Army, Fire Brigade, Royal Navy and Transport Police. During these visits you may experience drill, leadership and teamwork activities as well as realistic workplace situations — giving valuable insight and prepare individuals for the responsibilities and challenges faced within these roles.

You will also experience several outdoor activities such as:
