Why take this course?
This course provides an insight into mentoring and the differences between mentoring, coaching and counselling. You will be equipped with practical tools, techniques and models that can be used in a personal and work setting.
It has been designed for managers and supervisors but all employees can benefit from this training.
What you will experience
This one-day course can be delivered face-to-face at a NESCol campus, online using Microsoft Teams or at a local business premises for up to twelve attendees.
You will learn about:
- What mentoring is and what it is not
- The responsibility of a mentor and mentee
- Using your experience and strengths
- Building rapport quickly
- Active listening
- Useful tools and techniques including the GROW model
- What to consider when setting up a mentoring programme
