In Scotland, personal licence holders are legally required to complete refresher training every five years to stay updated on the licensing system and provide the certificate to the Licensing Board that issued their licence.
Additionally, licences must be renewed every ten years, with the renewal application completed at least three months before the licence expires.

You will cover a range of important topics regarding laws, duties and responsibilities of personal licence holders. This will ensure you have the knowledge and skills and be aware of all legal requirements. At the end of the training, you will sit a multiple choice online exam which will give an instant result.

This one-day course is for anyone aged 18 and over who wishes to become a Personal Licence Holder and for those who authorise the sale of alcohol, or manage or supervise in premises where alcohol is sold. It is a ‘relevant qualification’ under the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 for anyone applying for a personal licence in Scotland.
Candidates will be expected to complete pre-course reading prior to attending the course. An electronic copy of the mandatory course handbook will be emailed to candidates in advance of the course and a hard copy will be issued on the day. Approximately 5 working days before the course, candidates will be sent joining instructions which will outline arrangements for the day.
Candidates must present acceptable forms of identification before being permitted to sit the exam. If not able to present an acceptable form of ID, a candidate will not be allowed to sit the exam. Acceptable forms of ID are:

In completing the form and/or taking up a place on a College course, you will enter into a contract with the College and be bound by the North East Scotland College Standard Terms and Conditions of Study.
