“The lecturers know the course is intense, but they are prepared to put things in place to help you.”
This e-learning course is ideal for those working within the health and social care sector, and would also be of interest to teachers, parents and community support staff. It covers common difficulties that people with this condition experience, and will look at various coping techniques. On successful completion of the course, you will be able to apply the knowledge and understanding you have developed over the duration of the course in your support of those with Asperger’s.
The course is broken down into four easy steps. This includes an introduction and three study units:
The objectives for the course are to define autism and Asperger’s and identify the possible causes of the condition. The course will outline the benefits of early diagnosis and the theory behind the Autism Spectrum conditions. You will study some of the difficulties people have with this condition, and how we can support that person in their communication. You will also explore how people with this condition see the world differently. The person centre approach is explored and identifies the benefits to those concerned.
