Entry requirements
- Completion of Hairdressing – VRQ Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing (or equivalent)
Or
- Employment in the hairdressing industry
- Relevant experience or qualifications may be considered.
Why take this course?
This course is suited to those who want to enhance their hairdressing skill set. You’ll develop your understanding and skills in client consultation, styling, dressing, cutting, colouring and lightening.
There is also a focus on specialist areas such as colour correction and creative hairdressing design skills.
You’ll learn about the selling and promotion of products and services and the importance of health and safety.
You will learn in a realistic work environment, which provides preparation and excellent salon experience for progression to employment.

What you will need
- You are required to purchase the designated kit, text book/ e-book and uniform.
- You will be required to wear the designated uniform in all practical classes, wear minimal jewellery and closed in shoes. Full details will be provided at an information session.
- A laptop or similar device will also be required for this course.

If you are studying a full-time advanced course (HNC, HND or above), you may be entitled to funding.
